Frequently asked questions

How much does an Up Stairlift cost?

On average for curved stairs the UP Stairlift costs around £7,000.
Straight stairs are on average £1400.

How long does it take?

The UP Stairlift can be installed and enjoyed in your home within 3-5 days of receiving the initial quote.

I have a narrow staircase, can the UP Stairlift still be installed in my home?

The UP Stairlift fits any stair wider than 68 cm. If in doubt, do not hesitate to contact us. We nearly always find a suitable solution.

Can the UP Staircase be installed if I have a door next to my stairs?

It is still possible to install a stairlift when a door is close to the stairs. The rail ends are kept as short as possible, both at the top and bottom of the stairs. If there is not enough space at the bottom of the stairs, you can opt for a curved rail outlet. This is a steep rail run that ends just before the stairs. Alternatively you can opt for our folding rail if space is limited. The folding rail will automatically fold in after use, preventing it from standing in front of a door as an obstacle.

How loud is the UP Staircase? Will my neighbours hear it when in use?

The UP Stairlift is one of the most quiet models available. Your neighbours will hardly notice your usage.

Is the UP Stairlift also suitable for several floors?

Yes, our stairlift is suitable for multiple floors.

How are the UP Stairlift batteries charged?

Charging stations are located both at the top and bottom of the rail. When the stairlift is not in use, it is always parked at one of these charging stations. This ensures a full charge on your stairlift from day to night.

What is the maximum weight that the UP Stairlift can handle?

Maximum transportation weight is 125 kg.

What happens if I am at the bottom of the stairs, but the UP Stairlift is at the top?

No problem - you can move the stairlift to where it needs to be using the remote controls nearby, or our handy app. This tends to happen when several people use the stairlift, so we recommend attaching the remote controls to your wall with velcro for convenience.
